Prayer Resources at Trinity Catholic School

At Trinity Catholic School, prayer and reflection are at the heart of our community life. Rooted in our school mission statement: To the Glory of God, we build our school on Faith, Love and Respect, our prayer resources are designed to help students grow spiritually and recognise the presence of God in their everyday lives.

Every week, pupils gather in their form rooms in a dedicated time for prayer and reflection that follows the Liturgical Year, but focused on the Story of Salvation; reading the Bible from Creation to Covenant — helping them to understand God’s relationship with humanity and how these timeless messages continue to speak to us today.

One Story. Seven Lenses.

Each year, pupils journey through the Story of Salvation — the story of God creating, calling, saving and restoring his people.
As pupils grow, the Story stays the same, but the question changes.

Rooted in the Story of Salvation

Every year, pupils encounter the same great Christian story: Creation, Covenant, Exodus, the prophets, Christ, the Cross and Resurrection, Pentecost and the Church.

This journey also unfolds in harmony with the Liturgical Year, so that pupils meet the Story not only as something told in Scripture, but as something the Church continues to pray, celebrate and live.

Year 7 — The Story

What is the Story of Salvation?

Year 7 introduces pupils to the Bible as one great story of God at work in the world.
The focus is on the major moments of salvation history and helping pupils see how they fit together.

Year 8 — Me

Who am I in God’s Story?

Year 8 explores the Story through the lens of human dignity and being made in the image of God.
Pupils are invited to see that the Story of Salvation is not just about other people in the Bible — it is about them too.

Year 9 — Us

What does it mean to belong to God’s people?

Year 9 shifts the focus from the individual to the community.
Pupils explore how God calls together a people — from Israel to the Church — and what it means to belong to something bigger than themselves.

Year 10 — Discipleship

If this is my Story, how should I live?

Year 10 asks how belonging to God’s Story should shape everyday life.
Themes such as choice, virtue, holiness and responsibility help pupils reflect on what Christian discipleship looks like in practice.

Year 11 — Mission

What kind of world are we called to build?

Year 11 turns outward towards justice, peace, service and the Common Good.
Pupils consider what the Story of Salvation means not only for individual lives, but for the kind of world Christians are called to help create.

Year 12 — God

Who is the God of this Story?

Year 12 explores the deeper question at the heart of the whole journey: who is God?
Through the Story of Salvation, pupils reflect on Revelation, Jesus Christ, and the mystery of the Trinity.

This year offers a deeper theological entry point into the Christian faith, making it especially fitting in Sixth Form.

Year 13 — Presence

How is the Story being lived out today?

Year 13 brings the journey to its climax by asking how the saving work of Christ is still present in the life of the Church.
The answer leads pupils towards the Mass, where the Story of Salvation is not only remembered, but lived and celebrated.

Built one year at a time

The programme is being developed gradually from 2025 to 2032, with one new year-specific programme created each year.
As each new stage is introduced, earlier resources remain in place for their intended year group, allowing the full Prayer Resource journey to grow steadily over time.

One Story. Growing questions.

From Year 7 to Year 13, pupils return again and again to the same Story — with greater depth, greater responsibility and greater wonder.
