Faith and Mission

At Trinity Catholic School, we believe that our life together is directed “To the Glory of God”, as our mission so clearly proclaims. Week by week, our Celebrations of the Word offer students a sacred space—set apart from the noise of daily life—where they can grow in prayer and deepen their awareness of God’s living presence. These are student-led moments of encounter, rooted in the Scriptures and grounded in our call to live the Gospel. Whether through reflection, music, drama, or prayer, our students are encouraged to connect the Word of God to their daily experience, to see that faith is not abstract, but active and alive in their hearts. As a school, we walk with our young people as they begin to recognise that they are part of something greater—a Church that loves them, and a God who calls them by name.

In addition to these weekly opportunities for prayer, we provide regular access to the Sacraments—offering voluntary Masses and opportunities for Confession. These moments in the Chapel are powerful reminders that God does not only dwell in the heavens, but comes down to meet us, to dwell within us. We also celebrate Year group Masses throughout the year, where students take part as readers, altar servers, and musicians. In these liturgies, they encounter the transforming love of Christ in the Sacraments and are reminded that their gifts have a place in the Church. From the beginning of the school year, the whole school gathers for a Welcome Mass, we strive to make it clear that faith is not an extra—but the very foundation of all we do. In prayer, in the classroom, in service and in community, we want every student to hear this truth: God loves you. He is calling you. You are His.

We also believe that a Catholic education must go beyond the school gates. That is why we actively encourage students to connect with their local parishes, to serve at Sunday Mass, and to support the life of their Church communities. On great feasts like the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, students from Trinity take part in parish liturgies across Nottingham—reading, altar serving, and singing in the choir. These encounters are not just gestures—they are bridges. Through them, our young people come to see that the Church is not a place they visit, but a family they belong to.

At Trinity, we dare to take Pope Francis’ words seriously: “Dear young people, do not be afraid of the future! Dare to dream big!” In every liturgy, every lesson, every act of service and charity, we are teaching our students not just to pass exams, but to become missionary disciples—young men and women who live with faith, courage, joy, and love in the heart of the world.
