Year 7 Trip to Lincoln 2025

The Year 7’s recently visited Lincoln as part of their studies on Medieval England. They saw the oldest surviving house in England (the Norman House), and were taught about antisemitism in medieval England. They also had a tour round Lincoln Cathedral, seeing the Lincoln Imp, the shrine of Little Hugh and the battle standards of the Lincoln regiment, as well as the cloisters, chapter house and got to see medieval carvings, including a fine Doom carving. They were shown some surviving pre-reformation medieval paint to tie in to their studies of Tudor England. They then took a tour round Lincoln Castle, seeing the Magna Carta and learning about the establishment of our rights, and learnt about the battle of Lincoln, a critical moment in England’s history.
Mr Howell would like to thank all the staff who made this trip possible.
