Complaints Procedure

Download Complaints Procedure Policy

Parents are encouraged to contact Form Tutors, Progress Co-ordinators, Assistant Headteachers or the Deputy Headteacher with any concerns that they may have about any matter relating to their child’s education.  This applies whether the concern relates to curricular, extra-curricular or behavioural matters.

We undertake to respond to parents as soon as we have researched the matter in question, usually within five working days.

Parents have complimented us on the speed or our response, usually within two working days, to the majority of concerns raised.

To facilitate a rapid response we encourage parents to relay concerns initially via a telephone call to the appropriate member of staff (usually the Progress Co-ordinator).  This usually enables us to respond appropriately before opportunity would arise for an interview to be arranged.  If an interview was then considered appropriate it can be arranged with the Progress Co-ordinator in possession of all salient facts which is more likely to result in a desirable outcome.

We can never undertake to respond ‘immediately’ or even on the same day to a particular concern as we are all very committed to timetabled teaching and supervision tasks and therefore may not be able to speak to particular pupils and colleagues and access a phone until sometime later. However, concerns pertaining to Child Protection will be responded to immediately.

For any complaints specific to Special Educational Needs or Disability, complaints should be directed in the first instance to Mrs P Latimer, SENCO Tel: 0115 929 6252 Email: SENCO@trintity.nottingham.sch.uk

If a parent is unhappy with the response of a class teacher or Progress Co-ordinator they should contact the Head of Site:

Mr D Kelly, Head of Lower School Tel: 0115 9296252 Email: d.kelly@trinity.nottingham.sch.uk

Mr S Wadsely, Head of Upper School Tel: 0115 929 6251 Email: S.Wadsley@trinity.nottingham.sch.uk

Mr M Griffin, Deputy Headteacher, Tel: 0115 9296251 Email: m.griffin@trinity.nottingham.sch.uk

Further complaint can, of course, always be addressed to the Headteacher and/or the Chair of Governors, in writing in a sealed envelope posted c/o Trinity School, at the school address on Beechdale Road, Aspley, Nottingham, NG8 3EZ.

If the complaint remains unresolved then it is possible to follow the Complaints Policy procedure which is attached to this article.
