Year 10 Geography Trip to Mablethorpe

At the end of June, our Year 10 Geography pupils visited Mablethorpe in order to collect fieldwork data at the coast.

The pupils walked along the beach to sketch the sand dunes and the sea wall. They also went into the town centre to carry out questionnaires to get an opinion from locals and tourists.

A good time was had by all – Mablethorpe never disappoints with good fish and chips!

Fieldwork is now a compulsory part of Geography GCSE. In Year 11, one of the exams tests pupils’ knowledge of how and why it is important to collect primary data.
