On Thursday 6th December, Trinity held its Presentation Evening to celebrate the achievements of the previous year.
This was the school’s 25th presentation evening, a highlight in its busy calendar. Mr Ian Curryer, Chief Executive of Nottingham City Council, was our guest of honour.
We celebrated the success of 84 students, with many special prizes being awarded for academic excellence, effort, sport, perseverance and contribution to the life of the school and the community. It was lovely to see 35 Year 14 students return to collect their A-Level and BTEC certificates.
As ever, the evening was made extra-special by the outstanding musical performances from so many of our current pupils; their dedication and enthusiasm echoed that of all those receiving awards.
We heard inspirational speeches by Mr Shenton, our Headteacher and Mrs Greatrix, our Chair of Governors, and from our guest Mr Ian Curryer. The Headteacher’s Prize winner gave a heartfelt vote of thanks to all who had supported and participated in the event.
Ad Dei Gloriam
The evening began with a musical introduction from the choir who sang the Hallelujah chorus.
After the awards and speeches there was a musical concert showcasing the talents and enthusiasm of so many of our pupils.
The Chamber Orchestra played Farandole by Bizet, the choir (of over 200 pupils) sang This is Me from The Greatest Showman and the Swing Band performed two toe-tapping pieces: Besame Mucho and Stompin’ at the Savoy.
Next we heard a very special piece, Ballade No 1 by Chopin, played on a grand piano that had been brought in especially for the occasion thanks to a generous sponsor (Pinnacle Security).
The audience continued to be mesmerised by the talent on show as the Concert Band played The Fifth of Beethoven and the evening’s finale, A Concert Celebration by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The evening finished with a bang as confetti showered the stage and all the performers were bathed in the rapturous applause of the audience.
Well Done and Thank You
Congratulations to all those who received awards and thank you to all those who gave up so much time and put in so much hard work to make the evening a fitting celebration of the year’s achievements.
