Sports Awards Assembly

Trinity's annual Sports Awards and House Competition assembly took place on Friday 18th October.

The assembly is a celebration of our sporting and House Competition participation and successes. The afternoon was filled with pride and excitement as the House title was revealed after a very close fought competition.

Special Guests

The special guests included Etienne Stott, our Olympian that visited us last year, and Katie Bartlett, a past pupil and GB rower who is currently studying at Loughborough University. Mick Newell from Nottinghamshire county cricket presented the awards for our summer sports and we also invited former British champion Basil Leeshue to talk about his karate accolades. Lastly we welcomed Murray Cochrane, a GB speed skater, who spoke about his Olympic dreams for the future.

All of the guests had some great stories to tell and proved inspiring to our staff and pupils.

Sports Leaders and Officials

As always, we had lots to celebrate in the afternoon, not only the sporting titles achieved but also the hard work by the pupils involved in sports leadership and officiating programmes.

House Competition

The latter half of the assembly saw the sportshall come alive as the House Competition events were celebrated.

As the final scorings were revealed, pupils learnt there were only ten points between 1st and 2nd and only ten points between the 2nd and 3rd. What a close year!

Dalby were crowned champions! Congratulations.

Here’s to a successful 2013 – 2014, a year of pupils getting involved in many of the sporting opportunities as possible and representing their Houses with passion and pride!

Thank You

Thank you to all the staff that continue to contribute to the extra curricular programme and the house system. Well done to all of the students who have taken part in events for their commitment and enthusiasm.
