One Night In Miami

On Wednesday 12th June, Years 10 and 12 went to the theatre to see One Night In Miami, a play by American-born Kemp Powers.

Kemp Powers’ 2013 debut play imagines what might have happened on one night between four exceptional black men: Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown.

In the play, a newly crowned world boxing champion, influential singer-songwriter and record producer, star NFL player turned actor and controversial Nation of Islam leader shoot the breeze while eating vanilla ice cream.

This powerful and hard hitting play was both emotional and funny.
