On Wednesday 23rd June 2010, seventy five Year 10 Geography students went on the annual Field Trip to the coast at Mablethorpe.
The weather was glorious and the pupils completed all the tasks in beautiful sunshine. They recorded and analysed the sea defences at Mablethorpe, observed the vegetation changes in the sand dunes and saw how humans use this ecosystem. Finally the students conducted a land use survey of the town in an attempt to evaluate whether Mablethorpe could survive without tourism.
Surprisingly, the streets of Mablethorpe all emptied at about 2.30pm – A ghost town!
