Lunchtime Concert – Sixth Form

The first of many lunchtime music concerts took place on Thursday 10 October. Students packed into the drama studio to support our talented young musicians, who entertained with a diverse range of music.

Year 12 musicians opened the concert, starting with an acoustic arrangement of a Kenrick Lamar song which was followed by a solo musical number from ‘Dear Evan Hansen’. The audience were then treated to few instrumental pieces including the dramatic final ‘Precipitato’ movement of Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No.7, the delicate yet difficult Schubert lied ‘Du bist die Ruh’ and the opening ‘Allegretto Malinconico’ movement of Poulenc’s Sonata for Flute and Piano.

Musicians are already getting ready for the next concert on Thursday 14 November, so keep your eyes peeled and contact Mr Durnell if you’d like to get involved as a performer.
