At Trinity we have a full time, independent counsellor provided by Faith in Families. Ravelle Moses, works at the school with young people that have been referred to her for additional support. This can be over a long period or when a young person may be experienceing times of crisis in their lives.
Ravelle is a trained professional and works discretely and works in the best interests of the young person. She is able to signpost additional support where necessary and liaise with the school and/or family after discussion with the young person if that is what they so choose. The counselling service is confidential except for if a child is in immediate risk of harm when a Child Protection concern has been rasied. When this is the case Ravelle will inform the young person involved.
This service is available to pupils/students by arrangement with their Progress Coordinator or a member of the Senior Leadership Team and via a ‘drop-in’ service which is advertised to students via the Trinity Learning Gateway.
Young people who have used this service have found that the experience is very worthwhile and helpful. Counselling may not help solve all problems that young people bring but it certainly helps.
