End of Year Letter – Summer 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

We have reached the end of the academic year, one which we will never forget. I am so incredibly proud of all our students over the past months, how they have adapted, how they have persevered and how they have engaged so well. I know this would not have been possible without your love, support and kindness. I understand, having two school age children myself, some of the challenges that you will have faced in balancing home-schooling and your own commitments and responsibilities, whether it be preparing lunches, trying to help your children with work that you have not seen for thirty years or becoming an IT expert in an instant. Thank you so much for all the support that you have given school in ensuring that your children continue their education in these most usual of circumstances.

It was nice to see the school receive recognition in the local press as Trinity was declared the best secondary school Nottingham by the Real School’s Guide. This acknowledgment is a fitting testament to the hard work and commitment of all of the staff and students at Trinity. A link to the article can be found here:

We are saying farewells to a number of staff who have given the school exceptional service over the years:

Mr Baker in Physics, Mrs Cole-Wright in Art, Miss Fitzpatrick in RE, Mrs Strumnik-Brown in French and Mr McInnes in ICT. We must reserve special mentions for staff who have been with us for over fifteen years. Mrs Bator after 18 years at Trinity is going on to pastures new to take up a position of Assistant Headteacher at Christ the King in Arnold. We also say goodbye to Mr Parr who after an incredible 36 years teaching Physics at Trinity is looking forward to a well-earned retirement. I would like to thank them for all that they have given to Trinity and offer our best wishes for the future.

We are really and truly looking forward to welcoming everyone back in September in the safest possible set of circumstances and I wrote to you earlier this week outlining some of the changes that we are making. We have completed extensive risk assessments and are confident that our site will be ready for the return of all students. We will be in touch to confirm bus times as soon as they are available and we will provide any further updates in week before we return.

Thank you again, have a lovely summer and God Bless.

Yours sincerely

Mr Shenton
Headteacher
