Friends

‘The Friends’ was formed in 2005. We are a group of parents and supporters, who love watching the band perform and help to support its activities through fundraising and by practical help.

In 2006 we became both a PTA and a registered charity.

We meet once a month, while the band rehearses on a Wednesday evening to help plan events and we produce a regular newsletter to help keep parents and supporters informed.

During the past year we have helped the Band by:

• Supporting the Band at competitions
• Bag packing at Sainsburys
• Holding a barbeque
• Organising catering and cleaning at Beaumanor weekends
• Raising funds for new uniform
• Race night
• Awards Evening
• Etc, etc, etc…!

The coming year will see even more fundraising and practical help as we look forward to the Band building on its successes. Last year we started the monthly payment scheme, which has been very successful and will continue this year. We will also be raising funds to help towards the Kerkrade trip. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to sign the enclosed gift aid forms as we are still able to claim gift aid on the part of the monthly payments that cover uniform and weekly subscription donations.

With your child joining the Band this year, we hope they will enjoy the great experiences that come with it. If you are able to offer your support to the Band, through the ‘Friends’, then please let us know. We welcome all help, no matter how big or small.
