National Champions!
Trinity School Show Band capped a fantastic inaugural season in BYBA's Division 1, by winning the national championships in Coventry in October. The band were delighted to have played so well in front of a packed crowd.

A Week in Kerkrade
The band travelled to Kerkrade in Holland at the end of July to take part in a major marching band competition. They put on a great performance and made excellent progress.

Spotlight on Youth Competition
In June Trinity hosted their first competition with 15 bands from across the country competing. The weather was bad but Trinity managed to win their first appearance in Division 1.

Beaumanor Training Weekend - April
The 24–26th April saw our third Beaumanor weekend of the season. Spirits were high, the weather was dry and we are now two thirds of the way through learning this season’s show, "Spectrum".

NEW BAND MEMBERS INTAKE EVENING
It was fantastic to see so many potential new members at the meeting on Wednesday,we look forward to seeing you on the 11th November, band staff are at Upper School from 6pm and members should arrive ready to start at 6.30pm.
Letters will be available for those of you who didn't get a full set.
Some questions came up several times after the meeting.
WHAT TO WEAR: Members can wear any comfortable clothing to band; those in colour guard should not wear jeans as these restrict proper warm up exercises.
PAYMENTS: Members have 3 weeks in which to try band and see if they like it. We suggest the December payment is made by cheque (payable to Trinity School Show Band) and the standing order forms you received will run for 10 payments from Jan10 - Oct10.
PRIZE GIVING: Any new members will not perform in prize giving this year as we will be playing music from last year's show.
NOT SURE WHAT I WANT TO DO IN BAND: On the first week all new members will meet with Mrs Taylor and Adam and will have the opportunity to decide what section/instrument they want to play. Where possible everyone is given their first choice, but we have to balance the number in each section so we don't end up with 20 saxophones and 5 trumpets !!

DATE CHANGE
The letter from band on the 4th November gave 2 bag packing dates. The Tesco Top Valley date will now be Sunday 6th December, not Saturday 12th December as stated in the letter. Many Thanks.
