On Friday 1st July, 95 years to the day since the battle took place, Trinity School ran a Battle of the Somme event as part of its activities day. (Jul 2011)
On Tuesday 7th June, Year 9 construction students visited a housing development in St Anns to give them an insight into the industry. (Jun 2011)
The current Year 8 Resistant Materials class has been working for seven weeks to create a metal figure in a shape from their favourite theme. (May 2011)
Salv Martello, Operations Director of Clegg Construction Ltd, organised a visit for Trinity School to their site at Rolls Royce Derby on 22nd March. (Mar 2011)
In February, Mr Stevens' Year 10 Resistant Materials students completed the Coin Football game project, learning about wood joints and finishes. (Feb 2011)
Preparations are well under way for the performances of Joseph on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of February and staff and students have been busy making and painting parts of the set and props. (Jan 2011)
Year 10 Resistant Materials students completed a quick LED keylight project in December, learning about product assembly and disassembly. (Dec 2010)
In Year 9 Graphics pupils learn Adobe Photoshop skills and use them to create a mouse mat design which is then printed and heat pressed. (Dec 2010)
In November, Year 10 Resistant Materials students completed an illuminated ornament project, a great combination of CAD, CAM, mass production and electronics. (Nov 2010)
In November, as part of National Construction Week, our Year 11 BTEC Construction students visited a timber framed extension at a school in Bulwell. (Nov 2010)
Mr Stevens' Year 7 Resistant Materials class have just completed a project to make bird feeders out of pine with a wire cage to hold some peanuts. (Nov 2010)
Year 10 Resistant Materials students have just completed some projects making screwdrivers out of re-cycled milk bottle lids and building acrylic photo frames. (Nov 2010)
One of the Year 10 Resistant Materials groups has just completed a mini project where the students have made a model World War 2 aircraft, using a range of materials, tools and processes. (Oct 2010)
The Design Technology Department is making a full size Dalek! The aim of the project is to show the students how all the machines in the DT Department can be used to make the various parts. (Jun 2010)
The PE department treated their Year 13 students to an Aussie-Style breakfast in Mrs Lewis' Food Technology department at the inaugural PE Farewell Breakfast. (Jun 2010)
For the third year running, Mr Stevens from the DT Department is running some WW1 relic workshops for the GCSE History classes. Collecting WW1 items is one of his hobbies. (Jun 2010)
Forty Year 11 Construction pupils recently visited the Arkwright building on the Nottingham Trent University city campus to look at the remodelling, refurbishment and new construction at the site. (Mar 2010)
The new Year 8 puppet project in Textiles has been a big success in its first rotation. Students designed and made a puppet for use in a children's play-group. The puppets are designed to use in storytelling activities. (Oct 2009)
Three Year 10 students won the Midlands regional competition to redesign the Houses of Parliament. On Tuesday 7th July they travelled down to London to represent the school, in what was a fabulous event. (Jul 2009)
In what is now becoming an annual tradition, Mr Stevens from the DT Department has recently presented some workshops for the Year 10 History students on the First World War (his hobby). (Jun 2009)
In June 2009 we had a very successful House competition in DT, Ready Steady Cook. The venue was The Perkins Restaurant who kindly let some of our pupils in to cook in a real restaurant. (Jun 2009)
The current Year 10 construction group went on a site visit to the New University Science Park in Highfields, Beeston. When we got there we were met by Mr. Hilton who took the group around the site. (Nov 2008)
Two groups of Year 8 students carried out a project where they collected used plastic bottles to build structural columns. The bottles were filled with sand and tested for strength. (Sep 2008)
