Catenians Public Speaking Contest
A Trinity sixth former swept into 2nd place in this year’s East Midlands Catenians public speaking contest on the 3rd March.
Mary-Kate spoke eloquently in front of a large crowd, including two bishops, on the theme The Media is to Blame for all of Society’s ills. In a well organised and thought provoking speech she came down firmly and decisively against the motion. She challenged the motion on several points and asked how far the media is used as a scapegoat for personal failures.
Command and Confidence
She impressed her audience with her command of the subject and with her confident manner. She achieved Trinity’s best ever result in this contest, beating off fierce competition from schools across the East Midlands, and should be rightly proud of her magnificent achievement.
