Faithful+Gould Visit
On Wednesday 18th July, six Year 12 students visited the offices of Faithful+Gould in Beeston.
Faithful+Gould is a hugely successful national business, and part of the global company Atkins. The students were visiting David Pick, F+G’s director, who introduced them to the specialisms of the company, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Managing and Health and Safety.

Competitive Edge
The students had the opportunity to meet staff who spoke about their routes into their careers, as well as outlining their day-to-day activities. They carried out tasks related to these jobs – well done to those who had a bit of a winning streak! It was lovely to meet up with Monika again, a past student who now works for Faithful+Gould. She is really enjoying her work, as well as studying for her degree part-time at Sheffield Hallam.
The students learned a lot about areas of work they were interested in (and some learned how to use the coffee machine!). They were able to ask questions, be part of a team, and witness the world of work first hand. The lego challenge brought out a competitive edge, as well as having the purpose of bringing all the elements of the day together.
Thank You
David made us feel very welcome, as usual, and many thanks must go to him and his staff for the time and effort they put into the day.
