Trinity Welcomes French Visitors
November 9th - 12th saw the first visit to Trinity from our partner school, Lycee La Herdrie in Nantes. Ten students accompanied by their teacher stayed four nights in Nottingham with volunteer host families from Trinity.
German Visitors Come to Trinity
October 2009 saw the first visit from pupils of our partner school, the St Dominikus Gymnasium. Their visit coincided with the City's celebrations to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the twinning between Karlsruhe and Nottingham.

Onatti Theatre Company
On Monday 1st June the Onatti Theatre Company from Warwickshire came into school to perform a French play for Year 9 students called "Cache-Cache". The play lasted 50 minutes and was performed entirely in French.
Teachers' Trip to Karlsruhe
Mrs Rogers has recently returned from a British Council-funded visit of six Nottingham teachers to forge links with partner schools in Karlsruhe, Germany, Nottingham's twin town.
Year 10 Spanish Trip to La Tasca
At the end of March a group of Year 10 GCSE Spanish learners new to the language went with three teachers after school to La Tasca in Nottingham, one of a well known chain of Spanish restaurants.
Our New Partner Schools in France and Germany
In March 2009 Mrs Cook visited our new partner school in Nantes, France - the Lycee de la Herdrie. This new partnership has come about as a result of the Local Authority encouraging links between Nantes and Nottingham schools.
Year 7 Spanish Theatre Visit
On Tuesday 24th February 2009, Year 7 Spanish students watched a Spanish theatre performance in the drama studio. The whole performance was organised by the MFL department and was conducted in Spanish.
House Languages Competition
The 2008 Inter House Languages competition took place in early December. The event was held in the Drama studio one lunchtime and each house entered a piece of drama, performance or music. Pupils from all years 7-13, accompanied by the teachers from the MFL department, put on a really good event.
New Games for KS3 French!

French Web Site
Mrs Doak has developed a web site to support students studying the French language. Including web pages, useful links, slide presentations and Word documents the site covers language, grammar, culture and curriculum for all secondary groups.

Activities
- Year 7 trip to France: Pupils visited northern France in March 2008 and stayed at a PGL centre.
- Year 10 Spanish Trip: Nineteen of Mr Allerton's Year10 pupils attended a Spanish Day for GCSE candidates, held at the University of Birmingham.
- Year 8 Trip to Germany: The first Trinity languages trip to Germany since 1998 took place in December 2007 and was a great success. Forty Year 8 pupils accompanied by 5 staff spent three nights in Cologne in a superbly equipped Youth Hostel and visited markets and museums in the area.
- Karlsruhe Students Visit Trinity: On July 5th Trinity welcomed students from Karlsruhe, Germany. After a welcome session they watched a film about the school and the Evening Post took photos. The rest of the day was spent in lessons.
- Links with Annoeullin: From Sunday 11th to Wednesday 14th February, Mr Allerton and Mrs Cook spent four days in France meeting our future International Dimension partners in our first Link school, College Albert Ball, Annoeullin.
