French Visit
November 9th - 12th saw the first visit to Trinity from our partner school, Lycée La Herdrie in Nantes.
A group of ten students accompanied by their teacher Monsieur Charles stayed four nights in Nottingham with volunteer host families from Trinity. During their stay the French party visited town, Newstead Abbey and the Nottinghamshire countryside and also spent a lot of time in school looking at everything from our School Council to visiting lessons with partners.
The final event was a party involving the French visitors, their host partners and Mrs Rogers' Year 10 French class. The pupils split up into various groups and had forty minutes to prepare something on the theme of COMING TOGETHER. We did this recently with the German visitors from Karlsruhe and once again the visitors and their Trinity friends did themselves proud. Ms Antoine from the e-learning centre North came and took pictures and film and showed one Trinity volunteer how to operate the cameras. At the end of the party we watched the presentations which ranged from posters and pictures to drama and even riddles!

Thank You
A big thank you must go to Mrs Cook and Madame Hamon who spent hours on the preparation of this visit which has proven a big success. Thanks must also go to our host families, ranging from Year 10 through to 13, who welcomed the French students into their homes. We look forward to the next stage in our collaboration with La Herdrie.
The French students made a blog whilst they were here. Read the blog. (http://laherdrieanottingham.wordpress.com/)
The French pupils said Trinity's Monday Assembly surprised them because they don't have assemblies in France. They really enjoyed all the chatting, especially the meeting with the school council pupils and the one with Mr Dunning who is in charge of the sustainable projects. Our partnership school in France is also involved in such projects and they can compare what is done here and there. The said they want to carry out the ideas of the allotment and the solar panels.
