Year 9 Kilimanjaro Hat Competition
Year 9 have designed a hat and collected money for a Mount Kilimanjaro charity expedition.
Mr McKeever was asked if the school would run a competition to design a hat for Tom Flynn, the manager of the Bell Inn in Nottingham. In September, he is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak to raise money for The Nottingham Children’s Hospital, focusing on E38 ward, the Oncology Ward.
Collection boxes were taken round form groups and students and staff contributed.

Designing a Hat
Year nine were given a brief and spent their pastoral time designing a hat based on a combination of the Celtic and Football themes. A shortlist of winners was selected and put together on a display board. Tom came in and selected a range of ideas to put together a final idea.

The winners received a Lush goody bag and will be visiting The Queens Medical Centre to see where the money raised will go.
Mrs Wisdish and the winners customised a hat with the winning design.
