Design Technology at Trinity
Every pupil does Design Technology during Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9). They have a double lesson each week. Usually, the pupils have a teacher for 6 to 8 weeks for a particular project and then move on to do a new project with a different Technology teacher. This enables them to cover all the areas of DT which are: Graphic Products, Food Technology, Textiles Technology, Systems & Control and Resistant Materials.

Coursework Clinic
The Design Technology department runs a coursework clinic after school (3:30-4:30pm) every Monday and Tuesday in room 16. The clinic aims to support Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 pupils and allows them to do extra work out of class. This is for all parts of Design Technology; Electronics, Textiles, Graphics, Resistant Materials and Food.
Coursework at GCSE and A-Level in Design Technology accounts for 60% of the overall marks - a major and deciding part of the course. Only half of this mark is practical work. This means about a third of the final mark is based solely on the written work produced in folders.
