West End Here We Come!

At the beginning of July several of Trinity's Gifted and Talented performers auditioned for a scholarship place on a Musical Theatre Summer School being held at College Street Arts Centre in August.

A Sixth Form group has just come back from a fabulous trip to London where it saw two great West End shows and a truly gory version of Macbeth at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

The Trinity production of Oliver!, on Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th February 2010, proved to be a very popular event with over a hundred students taking part in the performance.

Inter-House Drama Competition

The Inter-house Drama competition was staged on Thursday November 26th and was once more a very popular event. Over 52 students took part in the four performances and these were all very well received.

Success!

Trinity students put on a highly professional production of Success! from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th March. Their performances earned applause and enthusiastic praise from the audiences.

Year 10 Blood Brothers Trip

On Friday 27th February forty four Trinity students went to the Sheffield Lyceum Theatre to watch Blood Brothers. All students enjoyed the trip and staff at the theatre commented on their exceptional behavior and politeness.

Year 12 Trip To See Bouncers

On Saturday 7th February the Year 12 Drama and Performance Studies groups travelled to the Hull Truck Theatre to see a production of John Godber's 'Bouncers'. They managed to avoid the snow.

Sixth Form Performances - November 2008

On November 20th and 21st 2008, the A level Drama and Performance Studies Students entertained audiences of family and friends to a very varied programme of performance pieces.

GCSE Performances

The GCSE drama pieces were all performed over three nights in March 2008 in the drama studio. The performances were all in the evening to the general public including family and friends and the groups then had two days where they performed to an external examiner.

The shows varied from the award winning Blood Brothers to the children's nursery rhyme Hansel and Gretel. There were twelve groups of students each performing a different piece.

The Pirates of Penzance

'The Pirates of Penzance' a comic opera by W.S.Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan was first staged in 1880, but the 'Trinity Team' proved that it has stood the test of time. All those involved with the production had a great time swashbuckling through sword fights and clowning through comic dance routines whilst singing complex and very catchy melodies, many in full four part harmony.

Year 11 Blood Brothers Trip

In December 2007 a Year 11 group went on a drama trip to London to watch the Production of Blood Brothers, at the Phoenix theatre.

Before they went to see the show the Trinity students were able to have a back stage tour of the Drury Lane Theatre Royal, where at the award winning "The Lord of the Rings" musical is currently being produced and where the multi award winning "Miss Saigon" spent 15 years.

Drama With The Royal Shakespeare Company

During October and November, forty of our GCSE Drama students worked alongside the RSC to develop a unique adaptation of Shakespeare's play 'A Comedy of Errors' which they then performed on stage at The Nottingham Theatre Royal.

Inter-house Drama Competition

The Inter-house Drama Competition took place on Thursday 11th October. All four houses presented strong entries comprising a large number of students from all year groups with assistant directors from the 6th form.

Performance Studies Scarborough Trip

Sixteen students travelled to Scarborough for an itinerary including a back-stage tour, a performance of Alan Ayckbourn's 'Relatively Speaking', the England Match on wide screen TV and fish and chips on the sea front.

Trinity Tens: 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' - June 2007

On the 13th and 14th of June, Mr Stimson's 'Trinity Tens' presented a high octane interpretation of Shakespeare's well loved comedy, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. The performances took place in the Drama Studio to full houses.

GCSE Performances - March 2007

On March 28th 2007 the year 11 GCSE students performed a selection of extracts from plays for a visiting examiner. Ranging from modern day psycho drama to 1940s children's games, the plays covered a range of devised and scripted work.

Godspell

The musical production Godspell had an excellent first opening night on Wednesday 7th March, followed by a matinee performance and another evening performance on Thursday 8th March.

The play, written by Stephen Schwartz, explores events from the life of Jesus Christ and is set in a seaside town in England.
