About The Scheme

Overview

Here at Trinity we currently run the Silver Award. This is direct Silver, which is a bit like doing Bronze and Silver in one go.

There are four main sections to the award:

Time frame

VolunteeringPhysicalSkillsExpedition
6 monthsOne section for 6 months and the other section for 3 monthsPlan, train for and complete a 3 day, 2 night expedition
Direct entrants must undertake a further six months in the Volunteering or the longer of the Physical or Skills sections.

So, you need to do one section for 3 months, one for 6 months and one for 12 months. The volunteering must for at least 6 months.

Throughout these you need to show regular activity and commitment of at least an hour a week. You can't achieve an Award in a short burst of enthusiasm over one weekend!

Why do the DofE Award?

On the DofE Award you'll enjoy loads of new experiences, discover talents you never thought you had, challenge yourself and meet loads of people just like you. Plus you'll do things you love and get a kick out of. It's a real buzz!

Then there's all the other stuff...

The question should really be why wouldn't you bother!

When Can I Join?

Normally in May of Year 10 you will hear about it. Mr Miller organises all of the DofE activites, so you can see him for more details.
